On Sunday September 18, Restless Books will be at one of our favorite literary events, the Brooklyn Book Festival. Come find us at Table 334, amid a great literary neighborhood: New Directions, Europa, The Nation, Archipelago, Center for Black Literature, Center for Fiction.
A few of our authors will be at the festival as well: Yoss, author of Super Extra Grande and A Planet for Rent, Tash Aw, author of The Face: Strangers on a Pier, and Deepak Unnikrishnan, author of Temporary People. All three will be signing books and galleys at our booth. Yoss and Tash will also take part in two panels: at 4:00pm, Yoss will join Mexican author Álvaro Enrigue and Chilean Carlos Labbé in a panel moderated by noted Bolaño translator Natasha Wimmer called "From Sci-Fi to Meta (and Heavy Metal): New Dimensions in Latin American Fiction," and at 5:00pm, Tash will join authors Nicole Dennis-Benn and Jonas Hassen Khemiri at an event called "On Identity and Sexuality."
Authors will be signing books and galleys at the Restless booth: Deepak Unnikrishnan, winner of the Prize for New Immigrant Writing, at 11:00 am; Yoss at 1:00 pm; and Tash Aw at 3:00 pm.
Plus, don't forget to check out Yoss's Brooklyn BKBF Bookends event co-hosted by BOMB Magazine—"Cuban Heavy Metal Sci-Fi"—at Issue Project Room on Thursday, September 15.
