On Saturday October 29, Carlos Fonseca, author of Colonel Lágrimas, will appear on a panel at the Loisaida Center for the New York Festival de la Palabra, with authors Raúl Aguiar, Manolo Núñoz Negrón, and Mayra Santos Febres.
The Festival de la Palabra is an international literary festival that is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where its director Mayra Santos-Febres resides. Its programmer, the Spanish journalist José Manuel Fajardo is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and the New York City coordinator, writer and organizer Charlie Vázquez, resides in Bronx, New York. In 2010, The Word/Festival de la Palabra debuted in San Juan and in 2011 it expanded to New York.
