Yoss at the Miami Book Fair International


On Saturday November 19, Yoss, author of Super Extra Grande and A Planet for Rent, will appear at the Miami Book Fair International on a panel with Susan Daitch and Manuel Gonzales.

The first Miami Book Fair International, founded by Miami Dade College and community partners, took place in 1984. Since then, it has been recognized as the nation’s finest literary festival.

Susan Daitch is the author of five works of fiction, and her work was the subject of an issue of "The Review of Contemporary Fiction" along with David Foster Wallace and William Vollman. She has been the recipient of two Vogelstein awards, research grants from NYU, CUNY,  was awarded a 2012 Fellowship in Fiction from the New York Foundation of the Arts. Her novel,L.C., won an NEA Heritage Award and was a Lannan Foundation Selection. She lives in Brooklyn with her son and teaches at Hunter College.

Manuel Gonzales is the author of the novel The Regional Office is Under Attack! and the acclaimed story collection The Miniature Wife, winner of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction and the John Gardner Fiction Book Award. A graduate of the Columbia University Creative Writing Program, he teaches writing at the University of Kentucky and the Institute of American Indian Arts. He has published fiction and nonfiction in Open CityFenceOne StoryEsquire, McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, and The Believer. Gonzales lives in Kentucky with his wife and two children.
