From Sci-Fi to Meta (and Heavy Metal): New Dimensions in Latin American Fiction

  • Borough Hall Media Room 209 Joralemon Street Brooklyn, NY, 11201 United States (map)

On Sunday, September 18, Yoss, Cuban heavy metal star and author of Super Extra Grande and A Planet for Rent, will participate in an intriguing panel at the Brooklyn Book Festival called "From Sci-Fi to Meta (and Heavy Metal): New Dimensions in Latin American Fiction":

From the futuristic fantasies of Cuban writer and rocker Yoss (Super Extra Grande) to the metafictional twists and turns of Mexican author Álvaro Enrigue (Sudden Death) and Chilean Carlos Labbé (Loquela), contemporary Latin American fiction continues to surprise and astonish in new ways. Join us for a conversation with these three thrilling, groundbreaking authors, moderated by noted Bolaño translator Natasha Wimmer.

The program will be followed by a book signing.

Don't miss Yoss signing books earlier in the day at the Restless Books booth (Table 334) at 1:00 pm.
