Join The Mermaid in the Bathtub translator Tal Goldfajn and illustrator Rutu Modan for storytime at The Eric Carle Museum!
By beloved Israeli author-and-illustrator duo Nurit Zarchi and Rutu Modan, The Mermaid in the Bathtub tells the story of a young man who discovers a mermaid in his favorite armchair and tries to get rid of her. But once the mermaid leaves, he misses the splash and shimmer that his new acquaintance brought to his landlubber life! Translated from the Hebrew by Tal Goldfajn (UMass Amherst), it features big, gorgeous, retro illustrations full of beguiling details by Rutu Modan, an award-winning illustrator and comic book artist.
Meet Tal and Rutu at this special story hour, where they’ll read the book and give young readers the chance to have their very own copies signed. Can’t make it to the event? You may reserve signed books online or contact The Carle Bookshop at shop@carlemuseum.org.
