How to Make a Book: Inside the Publishing Process with Grace Talusan and Nathan Rostron

Join author Grace Talusan and Restless Books editor and marketing director Nathan Rostron for a behind-the-scenes look at the process of publishing a book. What happens after the contracts are signed? What does an editor do? What can a writer expect from their editor, and how can they make the most of the editorial process? How does a first-time author navigate this new working relationship?  How can authors and editors work together to market a book?

Nathan and Grace will offer insight on how to navigate a world that’s too often murky and out of reach, with concrete advice from their experiences collaborating on Grace’s acclaimed memoir The Body Papers, winner of the Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing.

This is a pay-what-you-want fundraiser for For the Gworls, the Okra Project, and Black Lives Matter.

When: Tuesday, June 23, 7 pm
