Rama Duwaji

Rama Duwaji is a Syrian illustrator and designer with a BFA in Communication Arts, based in New York City. She uses visual art as a tool to examine themes of sisterhood and authentic expression within communities. She creates imagery of women of color in healing spaces as a way to shift the narrative and envision a future without oppressive systems and the pressures to conform to western standards of beauty. Her illustrations critique current societal norms and highlight the roles that community practices play in one’s mental health and well being. Her clients include Spotify, BBC, Vice, Tate Modern, and Cartier.
