Author Javad Djavahery and Katherine Zoepf Discuss "My Part of Her"

Iranian author Javad Djavahery will be joined by Katherine Zoepf to discuss Djavahery’s extraordinary English-language debut, My Part of Her at Albertine. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and signing session.

Celebrated Iranian novelist and short story writer Javad Djavahery was forced to leave Iran, settling in France as a political refugee at the age of twenty, and is now based in Paris. Djavahery has produced several films and writes screenplays and fiction. He has two short story collections in Persian and two novels in French. My Part of Her is his English-language debut.

Katherine Zoepf lived in Syria and Lebanon from 2004 to 2007 while working as a stringer for The New York Times; she also worked in the Times’s Baghdad bureau in 2008. Since 2010, she has been a fellow at the New America Foundation. Her work has appeared in The New York Observer, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Yorker, among other publications. She is a graduate of Princeton University and the London School of Economics.
