POSTPONED - The Magic of Kids' Lit in Translation: A Celebration with Yonder Authors & Illustrators

This event has been postponed—we’ll announce a new date soon.

Please join Restless Books and Scandinavia House on Thursday, October 22nd at 7 pm EST for a virtual fundraiser celebrating global children’s literature.

The creators behind some of our award-winning books in translation for young people will be in conversation: Andri Snær Magnason, author of The Casket of Time from Iceland; Laura Merz, illustrator of 1,001 Creatures from Finland, and Juan Pablo Iglesias, author of Daniel and Ismail from Chile. This event will be moderated by Shanetia Clark, Associate Professor, Early and Elementary Education at Salisbury University.

Tickets are $10 and tax-deductible, with all proceeds going to support Yonder, our imprint of global children’s literature. A Zoom link will be sent to all attendees. Register by making a donation of $10 or more here:

One of the very few American imprints that focuses on global literature for all young people, from early readers to young adults, Yonder books offer kids from all backgrounds a chance to see themselves in the stories they read, to put themselves in the shoes of others, and to experience new places and cultures wherever they are. We’re thrilled about our 2021 Yonder lineup, with extraordinary women writers and illustrators from South Korea, Japan, and Sweden. With your help we can build a more expansive, inclusive world of children’s literature.
