Join Priyanka Champaneri live in conversation about her new novel The City of Good Death at Source Booksellers.

This is a two-part event! Knitters are invited to join the author for a pre-show knitting circle at 6:30 pm with Priyanka, an avid knitter as well as a writer. She’ll discuss her book-inspired collaboration with knitwear designer Nidhi Kansal, and there will be a special giveaway and exclusive pattern discount.

Priyanka’s transcendent debut, winner of the Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing, immerses us in India’s holy city of Banaras, where pilgrims go to die a good death and be released from the cycle of reincarnation. The City of Good Death is “a breathtaking, unforgettable novel” (Foreword Reviews, Starred Review), “exquisite” (Booklist), and “epic, magical” (Publishers Weekly).

When: Friday, March 5 at 7:00 pm ET, with a special knitting pre-show at 6:30 pm ET

Where: Source Booksellers (Detroit, MI) with The Tuxedo Project

Priyanka Champaneri received her MFA in creative writing from George Mason University and has been a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts numerous times. She received the 2018 Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing for The City of Good Death, her first novel.
