The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD presents a free virtual chat about the craft of fiction featuring Priyanka Champaneri. She’ll talk about The City of Good Death with Zach Powers, novelist and Director of Communications at The Writer’s Center.

Priyanka’s transcendent debut, winner of the Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing, immerses us in India’s holy city of Banaras, where pilgrims go to die a good death and be released from the cycle of reincarnation. The City of Good Death is “a breathtaking, unforgettable novel” (Foreword Reviews, Starred Review), “exquisite” (Booklist), and “epic, magical” (Publishers Weekly).

Priyanka Champaneri received her MFA in creative writing from George Mason University and has been a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts numerous times. She received the 2018 Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing for The City of Good Death, her first novel.
