Immigrant Writing Workshop with Restless Books: Nonfiction - Session 1 ONLINE

With the generous support of the Amherst Cultural Council, Restless Books, in conjunction with the Jones Library, is offering one of its popular writing workshops of nonfiction, designed for emerging and established writers of all backgrounds who are immigrants or are focusing on writing nonfiction about immigration.  This two-session, virtual workshop is for participants ages 17+, and will be led by Ilan Stavans.

ONLINE workshop dates are Tuesday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 23. Attendance at both sessions is expected.

Participant email addresses will be shared with the workshop leader and may be shared with other workshop participants.

All participants received a free copy of a Restless Books nonfiction title written by an immigrant writer.
Exceptional pieces produced in the workshop are considered for publication by Restless Books.

About the workshop leader:
Ilan Stavans is the co-founder and publisher of Restless Books, a consultant to the Oxford English Dictionary, and the Lewis-Sebring professor of Humanities and Latin American and Latino Culture at Amherst College. His award-winning work, translated into dozens of languages, has been adapted into film, TV, radio, and theater. His next book, Sabor Judio: The Jewish Mexican Cookbook (Ferris and Ferris), will be out in October.
