Capping off a wonderful Brooklyn Book Festival weekend, our friends as Words Without Borders hosted an intimate reception for Restless Books author Hamid Ismailov in Manhattan on Sunday evening. An exiled Uzbek author whose fiction and poetry have been featured in Words Without Borders, Ismailov spoke about writing in exile, recited his own Uzbek translation of Verlaine's poetry, and read from the new print edition of his novel, The Underground. Some highlights are below.
